One of My Keys to Success... Having a Mentor!
Whenever you start something new (or even when you've been doing something for a while), you need someone you can bounce ideas off of, someone you can ask questions...someone who understands where you're coming from. But, when you're a VA, sometimes you can feel as though you are stranded alone on a deserted island. Now, don't get me wrong, there are super organizations like the International Virtual Assistants Association (which, by the way, I strongly suggest you become a member of) where you can get insight and ask questions of other VAs on listservs, but contact there isn't the same as having someone to pick up the phone and call or e-mail personally.
I know what made the difference for me and my business was having someone I could call or e-mail...someone who really cared about what happened to me and the success of my business. Someone who was an experienced and successful VA herself and gave sound business insight - that someone being my mentor.
And, you're not going to believe this...I convinced the woman who was MY mentor when I got into this business to bring a few more VAs "into her nest!" Valerie Kushnerov was one of the first VAs around. She's a bright, straightforward and honest woman who truly listens and gives sound business insight.
If you're needing a kickstart with getting your VA business started, looking for guidance with the tools you need or assistance finding your unique service, etc., e-mail Valerie right now and ask her about her mentoring services. She'll be happy to hear from you. Just tell her that Jenny sent you and you'll get the "inside track" right to her!
